Posting a very old trip report of mine which appeared on Airliners.Net which some may find interesting.
I was able to make a very interesting connection when I transferred from one Indian Airlines international flight to another at Changi.
By the way the Bangkok airport in the TR was Don Mueang as Suvarnabhoomi was not yet operational.

some?

I have only seen Don Muang from the outside, and loved the parallel runways, with the long green stretches, and the golf course, and the path to it, over the greens and terracotta roof-tops.
I find it rather coincidental that my brother and I had taken the IC 855-856 combination (was it that, or something else? I cannot trust my convoluted memories), only a few days after you posted this trip report: we had travelled on 28 May - 01 Jun 2012, if I remember correctly.
Your TR brought back memories of the old International terminal at MAA, which I have experienced, in the 2000s.
IC 555 was always a special flight, on the A300s, and the service on board has almost always been excellent. Plus you got an A3B4 we got an A320 both ways. I have some pictures of the plane from Changi, at my parents' place, which I hope to check out, sometime soon.
Thank you for memories of IC international flights of the 2000s...I can well compare these with my memories of the same, of the same era. I have also experienced some excellent service, with a great F&B offerings.
Cheers, Sumantra. |

I always remember that IC555 flight on the AB3
I was really worried that flight would operate as a few days before that IC had another AB3 out of action when their maintenance people taxiying an AB3 they were working on ended up inadvertently doing an impact test on the CCU airport perimeter wall.
However the IC 555 rotation those days I remember was BOM MAA the previous night then MAA SIN MAA followed by MAA CMB MAA and the evening MAA BOM so my flight was not cancelled or downgraded.
And another coincidence my current company now flies to DMK. |

Sir, this is a very interesting trip report from you, thanks for sharing!
The route is wow, certainly a creative one! And even the A300s, they looked rather classy!
Good to see a high standard of service from back then...
Regards
