Folks, I have created a new thread for pics of Obama's visit to India.
So, BOM & DEL spotters - post your photos of AF1 and other aircraft from the visit here.
To start off, here is a preview pic:
Both the USAF VC-25s and two Chinooks parked at BOM.

The pictures aren't showing up, Vivek. Is there some problem? Perhaps you could post a link? |

Thanks for that
Just one thing, I'm a little disoriented looking at the pics, where exactly are the two jets parked? As in, what apron/stand on the airport? Which hangars are those in the immediate background?
As an aside, am I the only one wondering why governmental aircraft have such dispiritingly dull (and really rather ugly, in AF1's case) liveries? I'm thinking of that awful French A340, or even the UAE 77W/744. |

Most seem to have the opposite opinion of AF1s livery. Nice colors, classic cheatline, polished belly, etc... |

Vivek the two heli's are not the chinooks. They are CH - 46 sea knight which operate out of the amphibious assault ships. |

28000 on final approach to 28 at DEL/VIDP today... oddly enough, only one of the two birds came in.
Cheers!

Shot in the dark from my side - maybe 29000 went off to Indonesia in advance? I can't think of any other explanation, unless of course AI1 somehow missed the arrival of the secondary aircraft, which is a remote possibility. |

I am sure, we did not miss 29000. Normal traffic resumed on 28 after about 5 mins of AF1's arrival.. and I will discount the possibility of the other bird landing on 27 as that approach was visible. Also a VVIP arrival on 29 does not sound very realistic to me, espcially when it involves airspace closure for the duration!
So, It could be that 29000 made its way to either Hindon AF Base or some undisclosed destination!
Cheers! |

okie!... get the picture now.. so 29000 landed much-much later.. and in between, the two VC-25A's, normal operations were resumed on 28... that is how we saw the Alliance Air AT4 coming in next. Sorry, to nitpick but why then call it a dummy (is it used to mislead any 'threats' to the original AF1 )
cheers! |

No, it is supposed to represent a "flying flag" so on the starboard side it is reversed like you would see it on say a ship. Same goes for any US registered aircraft, not just government. |

Why, because it looks the same backwards? |

Flag is pasted as per Airflow direction which is opposite to the flying flag. _________________ Think of the Brighter side !!! |
