Ojas, excellent TR.
Thanks a bunch for the pics of the AI 743. Good to know that (at least one of the) 743s are still operational. The Y class seats up front at the nose section look strange - the last time I was at that spot, they had the old fashioned F class up there. A real classic bird - any idea about the domestic routes the 743s are deployed on? Would love to revisit one after close to 20 years! You are one lucky guy to have flown her from DEL-BOM !!! |

Thanks, the aircraft does only the BOM-DEL domestic route. It basically is used only for NRT. |

No our flight was scheduled to land BOM at 2030 hrs. And it is the same way on the other operating day as well.
Only one B743 is operational, the other has gone tech. |

Great TR. I always look forward to read an AI/IC TR. _________________ India is one of the richest countries in the world.

A great report!
Just out of curiousity, did you plan this trip just to fly the Combi before it is phased out?
I flew this a/c back in 1991 and 1993. |

Thanks!
You are partially right. Had to make a trip to DEL and when Karan asked me whether I could join him, I agreed to immediately as he also had some work in DEL. But we did tailor our plans so that we could fly the Combi. The erratic schedules from Pune did not allow me to make a quick one day trip to DEL.
BTW himmat, this is my second trip on a B747-300, first being on the very same aircraft in 1999 I guess on the DOH - BOM route. |

Ohh my God, Ojas dude that was a fantastic TR! The TR literally made feel as if I am in the 743! Very nice to see one final TR of this AI backbone. |
