well just to clear your doubts vivekman Etihad operates the A340-500
to mumbai on a regular basis irrespective of the open skies policies
etihad operates two day flights to mumbai ie on monday and friday iee arrive mumbai in the afternoon and leave in the evening this one is operated by B767-300ER
as in THE REGULAR SCHEDULES ARE
EY 205 AUH - BOM 1205 1630 / EY 206 1805 1955 (MON) B767-300ER
1915 2105 (FRI)
EY 207 AUH - BOM 0305 0730 / EY 208 0855 1045 (MON , THU ,SAT,SUN) A340-500
CURRENTLY UNDER THE OPEN SKIES POLICY etihad has two more additional flights
EY 2207 AUH - BOM 0135 0600 / EY 2208 0750 0940 (TUE)
0305 0730 0845 1035 (WED)
Both these flights operated by A340-500 as well
Regarding emirates they operate likewise
EK 500 DXB - BOM 2230 0255+1 / EK 501 BOM - DXB 0415 0600 (DAILY)
EK 502 DXB - BOM 1330 1745 / EK 503 BOM - DXB 1900 2045 (DAILY)
EK 504 DXB - BOM 0400 0815 / EK 505 BOM - DXB 0945 1115
5 times a week
all these flights operate A330-243 (3 class configuration)
now considering the open skies policies going on till jan 31
EK is operating 3 X daily nearly mostly By B777-300ER
but some flights by B777-200 And a few by A330-200 as well
so you mustve seen EK 504/505 |

oh sorry for got to mention the schedule which operates A340-500 now which i mentioned was operated by A330-200 till oct 25 th from oct 26 2006 they are operating A340-500 and will continue with that
btw Etihad A340-500 has a capacity of 240
A330-200 225
B767-300 196
so probably these aircrafts have the right number of seats for which the GOI has given right to etihad |

Date was: 23rd november 2006.
PS: I had sent a email to EY operations but they haven't replied _________________ http://www.myspace.com/avsatsworld

Love the ride in the front (Nose ) of the B747-400s. Remember a trip on a Air India 747-400 (Velha Goa) from Delhi to Mumbai.
As reported, a smooth trip, but after landing, the plane nosewheel made some real screeches, and I got the feeling that the pilots were driving a race car in a parking lot instead of a 747... I guess it must be the familiar back-of-the-yard feeling after arriving at Mumbai. |

Was the ride equal to a taxi at Ghatkoper in BOM? _________________ http://www.myspace.com/avsatsworld

Most likely the pilot had had enough of flying around and wanted to be in hot bath and bed ASAP.
I mean, he literally "drove" along the taxiway...none of the steady smooth manuever that you'd associate with a levathian 747). |
