Flying economy - will need to do this trip maybe 3-4 times in the next 3 months or so.
Suggestions for best routing?
Criteria are 1) Short travel times 2) FFP miles
I know SQ and QF have the A 380 option, so might look at that to.
Can fly from either city, MAA or BLR |

MH seems to offer the best connections, but only 1 flight a day. The other drawback is the BLR sector is on a 737.
Code: | MH 193 (MH) Malaysia Airline BLR 00:45 KUL 07:30 738
MH 129 (MH) Malaysia Airline KUL 10:05 MEL 21:10 333
MH 148 (MH) Malaysia Airline MEL 14:30 KUL 21:05 333
MH 192 (MH) Malaysia Airline KUL 22:10 BLR 23:40 738

I've flown SQ on the sector - simple one-stop flights - slightly longish connection (4 hour) might be a draw back. But with the SQ/ MI options, you have the option of 2 connections a day. I think SQ is withdrawing the 380 on MEL - because the flight seems to use a 77W on later dates.
SQ option:
Code: | SQ 503 (SQ) Singapore Airlines BLR 23:05 SIN 06:05 772
SQ 217 (SQ) Singapore Airlines SIN 09:55 MEL 20:15 77W
SQ 238 (SQ) Singapore Airlines MEL 10:10 SIN 16:10 388
SQ 502 (SQ) Singapore Airlines SIN 20:05 BLR 21:50 772
|
MI option:
Code: |
MI 423 (MI) Silkair BLR 15:50 SIN 22:55 319
SQ 237 (SQ) Singapore Airlines SIN 00:25 MEL 10:45 773
SQ 218 (SQ) Singapore Airlines MEL 00:05 SIN 05:55 77W
MI 424 (MI) Silkair SIN 13:10 BLR 15:00 320

TG was not showing connections on the return back to India - perhaps not on the dates I was checking... Do check on the return sector before you finalize on TG - it was showing me TG MEL-BKK connecting to PG BKK-BLR, but I don't think TG/ PG work together.
I used flightstats that day, and today I used amadeus.net. _________________ We miss you Nalini! |
