Hey those are excellent! God those are real great pics... i like them because:
1. They are at an angle so u can see the tail.. these pass right over me so i jsut get the belly!
2. I am supposing the air in YYZ is much cleaner or something because the clarity is excellent!
Please can you please tell me the lens your using and what setting these have been taken on? And post processing.. was it just a little adjustment with the levels of the photograph?
Do let me know! Those are great pics!
regards
nitin
PS: as for you calling those an "attempt" i dont think u can go any further in perfection! |

Thanks for liking them. I had to call it attempts because I have been humbled(aka rejected) by A.net as well as Jp.net
Also these are full crop, ie, not resized so it is less than the min 1024x683 requirement.
I use your old combination (350D+70-300mm IS).
I did use level, USM and a bit of contast for the a/c's to stand out.
Most(not all) of the dark contrail shots in A.net have used autolevels on PS rarely somebody admits it and is always a discussion on forums. On flicker I'm the master so I can use PS as I want.
Somedays at YYZ the sky is blue and clear as glass and not at all hazy, that particular day, even our Aseem was present with me.
Settings, I belive was shutter priority at 1/400, Iso 100, focus centre point and @300mm.

The ususal contrail shots good ones on A.net are with 600mm lenses and also with teleconvertors etc. |
