This is one of the few times my company hasn't booked an LCC for domestic travel. Normally IndiGo is their airline of choice, but I've got 9W mainline coming up next Monday. Makes for a nice change.

Enjoy the upcoming pictures. Instagram and its Mayfair filter are good fun.

Fibga finally discovers it's 2013 and launches a mobile app.

Of course, as with everything Fibga, it's a delayed, half-baked rush job (yet supposedly well planned and thought out).

So the most important features (check-in and manage booking) are "coming soon" or say "go to jet.dumb" or "write to us".

Wow.

Oh Fibga.

jasepl is right. This app is benign and useless.

At BOM T1B. Absolutely scorching day so far. Flight is delayed, as Rishul warned via whatsapp earlier, due to whatever reason. Hung out as Starbucks for a couple of hours and then at the CCD in the terminal.

VT-JFK delayed by an hour.
Surely those three letters are a curse now.

Anyways, how did you get to BOM from MAA or BLR?

Looking forward to more, Varun!

Regards
Jish

Trust useless me to forget the dates of travel, and wonder why the TR was so feeling so benign/Be-Nine-W...now, excitedly looking forward to more pictures, and descriptions of the Sky Interiored ominously named `VT-JFK', the food, the runways used at BOM and BLR, and descriptions, with your brand of with and humour!
Cheers, Sumantra.

Been awfully busy with work/Diwali but I've scraped up enough time to paste the last few pictures. Delayed, but decent flight. Would've liked some more food though.

Nice...the food doesn't look too bad. The headphones: were there audio programmes available on the plane, or were they for your own personal audio device?
Cheers, Sumantra.

Bit scarce, because they delayed us on the ground at BOM due to congestion.

The latter. Though it'll be a nice day when airlines hand those out on domestic in Y. Smile

There's a difference between 9W mainline and a generic Indian LCC carrier? Wink

Hahah! Is there anything left to say, except I told you so? Smile

Sure, sure, I just wanted you to confirm this Very Happy. Air India's tiny earphones were superb in the first lot, in 2007 or so, before getting replaced with the cheap Chinese ones. The larger two-pronged ones on the A332s and the B777s for instance, were not too bad in the initial lot as well. However, such a sophisticated set...but of course Smile
Cheers, Sumantra.

The China ka maal is, well, Chinese crap, but it's tolerable for short domestic hops. The bizarre, mystery programming helps too. Because you won't know if you missed haering anything Smile

Ha ha! no, not quite. Their audio channels are what I patronise most often, on the Thales i3000 on the narrow-bodies and the A332s, the i4000 and i4500 on the B777s, and the i8000 on the Dream)liners. They usually have an excellent selection of the type of music I like. Old Hindi film songs, and classical and semi-classical music. Rarely have I gone disappointed with the selections.
Cheers, Sumantra.

Very nice work with the TR! Nice small little read.

But come on now, lay off the instagram filters. Smile

The meal looks very good! One thing that Jet do seem to perfect are their in flight catering! This was a 1.5 hr flight, correct? The portions are mighty good.

VT-JFK is one of the newest 9W planes isn't it? I wonder why there are no PTVs on board. Not like you'd get to use them on this route, but it seems strange considering the plane has sky interiors and all.

Cheers once again!

Adi,
