Interesting TR.
This is 4th TR (after 2 on Airliners.net and my TR), where I have seen this extremely busy route with low loads, all on Jet.
Breakfast quantity looks okay, especially the sausage there, a surprise! Compared to my evening snack, this meal looks better.
Another thing, do you know what the registration of this bird was? I'm surprised to see 12J on an old bird! As far as I knew, it was only on the new upcoming Sky Interior birds (starting from JFG, or maybe not? )
Looking forward to more.
Regards

Thanks for another engrossing trip report, AJ! I will share Jishnu's surprise at seeing low loads on a well-timed BOM-DEL flight, and that too, on Jet. The breakfast presentation looks decent, though the choice of Alu Parantha with Alu ki sabzi was a bit strange, and the latter, typically oily, with oil floating all around. Was there no yogurt in the non-vegetarian offering? I find that a bit strange, given that the North Indian vegetarian offering had it.
Thanks for sharing your writing with us, regularly too!

Sorry to follow up on my own post, but there are two points here:
1. Having been an ex-Mumbaikar myself, I know about the city's obsession with potato/baTATA. I know this sounds similar to Punjabis frying parAnThAs with butter, and then having it with dollops of butter, but this is a bit different, and in my humble opinion, is not quite `classy'. A potato parAnThA with potato curry doesn't quite `make the cut'. I know the Goyals and 9W are both based in Mumbai, and perhaps, some of the city's obsessions are bound to creep in. However, that has not been the case with the oldest airline based on the city. Even in its darkest days, Air India's food was quite a bit of an art. They had also put up their recipes on the Internet in the early 2000s, for prospective caterers. On a related note, even Jet's desserts are now not something to look forward to, as they used to be at one time.
2. A caterer is only as good as the recipes provided to it by the airline. I can understand that there maybe a slight variation in the final product, they may have off-days, and the like. However, I have found most of Jet's Indian offerings to be high on the oily part, on the average. AJ, you are a JP Plat, and at one time, Jet used to listen to feedback from JP Plats (pre-2011, IIRC). I wonder why no one pointed this out to them. I did, but then, I am the scum on earth as far as JP goes, I am `B6' (JetBlue)

Hi Jishnu,
This was the long weekend and 9w has a flight every 90 mins or so, maybe that was the reason for an empty flight. Even the airport was not so busy that morning.
breakfast quantity going less? here is my trail of how it progressed over the yearS: http://boardingarea.com/livefromalounge/2011/12/16/jet-airways-follows-the-olive-theory-axes-the-meal-service-bit-by-bit/ and here http://boardingarea.com/livefromalounge/2012/06/20/snack-is-the-new-dinner-on-jet-airways/
This one was VT-JGJ. I was on a skyinterior plane on the way back and it was only 8J (VT-JFD)
Cheers
