Hi everyone,

I normally wouldn't have posted this TR, or perhaps have posted it later
along with a written TR.

But, this particular video is one that I'm a bit proud of and one that took a lot of time to make as well.

Here's the link : http://youtu.be/emMY_cU1lEc

(Note that this flight was flown back in march and since then the new terminal has opened and this flight, 9W448,
has been discontinued as well)

The food on this flight really had my mind blown, now I'm not normally a fan of Indian food served on board airplanes,
but this was absolutely fantastic!

Such a simple sandwich, which is not even a full meal has really made me want to fly jet again just for the food.

I believe it was tandoori chicken in a gravy (Chicken tikka masala?) which was nice and tangy,
the spices were in perfect balance and melded perfectly with the creaminess of the perfectly cooked and extremely tender chicken.

Feedback and comments appreciated.

Cheers!

Thanks for the video report. I liked the others that you have done too.

MAA domestic is exactly the same as it was 15 , even 20 years ago. Time for a change, methinks.

Another thing I noticed is that the flight seemed to be flying along the East Coast l for a considerable amount of time after takeoff. Isn't this unusual for a MAA-TRV flight?

My pleasure! Thanks for taking the time to comment, I do appreciate it.

I too think the domestic airport is a horrible experience,
the new terminal there will be a welcome relief from the horrid old one!

I'd flown 6E316 MAA-TRV last year and the same thing is done, for say 25-30 mins
after takeoff before veering a few degrees right and then heading to TRV.

Could be that there's a waypoint or something to intercept for south bound
flights (?), no idea.

Be seeing ya!

Adi, thanks for yet another lovely trip report! Catchy music interspersed with audio clips, nice ticket-tape descriptions, slick editing, and above all, very nice videography. These make us eager for much more from you!
Loads were less than 50%! That is not nice for Jet.
I have flown this sector on IC 589 in 2008, and the `following the coastline' was enthralling in terms of the views, though we had a rather scratched window on an old A320. For a 1:20 flight, the snack was relatively decent in quantity - it is nice that it was very tasty as well. It is a pity that even with the only narrowbody AVOD IFE in the Indian skies today, Jet do not switch it on. And when they used to switch it on, they did not advertise it, either. I did not get this part - did you come in to land sea-side, over the Shanghumugham beach, or did you come in land-side? My guess is the former, from what my nebulous memories tell me. Do you have other views of the terminal as well? This looks like the old terminal, with perhaps a new segment air-side (new aero-bridge). I eagerly look forward to your trip report in the traditional text form as well!
Cheers, Sumantra.

Thanks a lot sir! I really do appreciate. After joining AI India, the fantastic TRs here (Including yours!) are the ones that provide me with inspiration for new vids!

Yes, this caused them to terminate the route as well..

That must have been a great experience! If it's not too late, If I may, it would be great toread a slightly more detailed experience about it from you!

Agreed, wish they would switch it on. But is it true that their the only one who used to use PTVs, I thought it was available on the AI A321s.

The plane landed at the south end of the runway, which is the ILS end.
I think I should have taken a seat on the left side as that would have a provided a coastal view. Oh well.. Smile

Sadly no I do not, although what you see is pretty much all there is to see about the airport.
The current domestic terminal in the video is the old international terminal, which has had jet ways for quite a while now (5-6yrs)

I have flown through the new terminal though and it is great! You can see much of it in one of my older videos while I flew with IX :

http://youtu.be/eXRFx0wAVG4

Thanks again sir, although I'm not sure whether to write a TR on this one, though I will try to post video TRs here in the future

Cheers!

Will try, Sir - there were EIGHT passengers on the TRZ-TRV leg. EIGHT.

Adi - you got me wrong: AI's PTVs are the Thales i3000: they are not AVOD. They have pre-recorded channels. Kingfisher had live TV channels, but it was again not AVOD. AI's 777s and the revamped 744s have the AVOD Thales i4000/i4500.

No wonder, it looked familiar! I missed the point about your video in the new terminal, thank you.

Sir, we really like your reports in both formats!
Cheers, Sumantra.

All the more reason to write a TR! It must have been like a private jet! Very Happy

Did not know that, thanks for the clarification!

I seem to have misunderstood the point again! I thought you would have liked to know more about TRV airport in general. Apologies.

Will try to come up with a TR including the whole days experience including the previous TR as well!

Cheers!

Awesome Video TR! It must have taken you a long time to put it together thanks a lot .

MAA terminalLike The_Goat said time for change - I know anutters will miss the toilet pee smell at domestic arrivals Wink

Seems like a nice standard flight, glad the food was yum. Same complaints about the IFE being switched off .... they can at least keep the moving map on ...

Thank you so much stealthpilot! It does take a long time to work it out, but the appreciation you guys show, makes it all worth for! Very Happy

Agreed, I too will miss the old terminal as well!

On the IFE though, I wish they would bring it back, even though domestic flights in India are short!

Cheers!

Yet another nice video TR from you!
I have flown the same flight, however, the CCU-MAA sector. IIRC, this flight does not exist anymore. Loads, maybe?
You too had a foreign pilot, just like me!
I think I have also tried this sandwich out, some flight, I do not remember!
Hopefully the new MAA terminal would bring in some hope for us travellers!

Regards
Jish
