....the title reflects my exact thoughts as I took my seat 36K on G-CIVT, a British Airways Boeing 747-400 to New Delhi.

This not-refurbished bird had OLD written all over it, and its amazing what a difference refurbishment can make, since I was on the older sistership G-CIVS from JFK to LHR but it was a completely different experience.

However, British Airways did not disappoint once again.

Lovely TR once again, Sir!
Nice pictures from Heathrow! This was the first international airport I have travelled through, and I get some strange feelings as I land here or leave this place, and transit through. The ME3 A388s pictures were lovely, and telling. I have never been able to spot that well at Heathrow: I can attribute this to the terminals AI has used over the ages. Some BA trips have been memorable, like the one with me face-to-face with a Concorde in 1979.
Ground staff of Indian origin at LHR: I have found them to be often disgusting and often a bit racist, either intentionally, or otherwise.
A kid kicking a seat from behind: I have also experienced this, and this is a complete nightmare on a long flight. You did the right thing, Sir.
It is nice that the crew were able to arrange for a chicken meal for you. AI always have these extra non-veg boxes, which they distribute to passengers when they run out of the regular estimated non-veg counts.
The snack service was a pleasant surprise for me, given some of the BA reviews I have read of late.
IGIA T3 is neat, efficient without many frills, and I guess it shows.
Cheers, Sumantra.
