Pictures worked - maybe it was just my connection. Great pictures!
Anyways, brilliant final part to this TR. Lucky you with the upgrade! However, as you mentioned, the upgrade does have its drawbacks, one of them being you might not get to sit in the desired side. Happened to me once, I got upgraded from 22A to 2F on 9W. I wanted the port side
I find it strange that the USBs do not work - why install them then?
Lastly, the food.
Meal looks pretty okay, nothing bad but nothing spectacular as well. AI does have contracts with airports outside India too. IIRC, the HYD-BOM segment of AI964 is catering from JED.
Furthermore, I presume there was no alcohol because it was a morning-ish flight. But only Pepsi is terrible....
And honestly, that business class meal does not look very J class at all, not even close! I mean, cheap aluminum containers?
I'll believe Jet has reached the end when they start serving food in aluminum foil containers in J class
But really, this is a new low reached by AI, something I did not expect.
But glad that you had decent flights with AI, and yeah, they do have some fundamental areas to fix.
Regards
Jish |

Excellent report and thanks for posting.
It is a pity that business class passengers are being served out from aluminium foil.

Thanks for the comments. Yes, its a pity that business class was meals were served in aluminium foils.
Also, I dont understand why drinks service is not done for morning flight. When I flew TK, for a 5:55 dep. there was drinks service around 7:00ish so was the case with LH on DEL-MUC in the morning ! |

A year or so ago, a friend of mine was severely admonished by an AI auntie when he asked for drinks on a morning flight. He was told, " Ye koi drinks peene ka time hai. Iss umar me sharab peete ho, chup chap juice peeyo".
He has stopped flying AI now. |

Auntyji had no business being so condescending. Its her job to tell whether alcohol will be served or not as per the service requirement- but not to preach. The passenger should have filed a written complaint. |

I guess it was well worth the wait for me.
A superb report, starting from parts of Singapore I have never seen.
I have never found Changi to be that fantastic, but it could be just me.
Air India's service was quite indifferent on your SIN-DEL leg, and that is not nice. Nice pictures of the spotting at DEL, and the 3pm afternoon main afternoon bank, yes: all of them leave in quick succession from the gates!
AI's J has always fallen short of J standards, and your experience was no exception, unfortunately. You had the reader with you on each line of the TR...thanks a lot for sharing this with us!
Cheers, Sumantra. |
