I use the Maycom AR-108 - and am very happy with it. I bought it 2nd hand, and it's dropped at least 10 times so far, and still going strong! The reception quality is a little poor, but I'm told that will always be the case with the little rubber antennas that the handhelds ship with. |

Do u get these here in India.
What is the price that is a good deal.
And yes, is it legal to own one, or does one have to scout for permissions. _________________ I love the smell of Jet Fuel in the morning. |

I don't think these are available in India - I bought mine from the UK (http://www.ebay.co.uk) for something like GBP 40 (don't remember for sure now!)
I don't know if these are legal in India - never seen a rule that says either way, but given this is India, the assumption should be this is illegal! |

Any lndian links or any place in India where we can pick them up.
Cos GBP 40 * 86 = Rs.3440/- seems to be a decent deal.
BTW is this GBP 40 for second hand or the brand new piece _________________ I love the smell of Jet Fuel in the morning. |

No - no Indian links
This was a second hand (or 3rd or 4th hand for all I know) piece, not new. |

These are not easily available anywhere in India, but very easy to find in the western world (www.ebay.de will definitely have a few on offer). So it might be easiest for folks like DABTH and JumboJet to get it from abroad. |

Radioshack has the best handheld radio scanners to offer. I own a Pro-79 model..works very well and has excellent speakers.
I also live on the 11th floor and 2 Kms off the BOM runway. So that helps !

Well dont knw if the height really matters. I knew shipping a scanner to india wud be an uphill task thats why i bought my AR108 Maycom radio scanner before leaving Syd for DEL.
I am based in Faridabad very much in flight path . Del arpt is indeed abt 45mins drive frm my place in a non peak hour bt still i get amazing reception so my advice go for the maycom stuff its gud..
